Pruning: Not necessary to prune for first five years but eventually becomes woody. Cut out old wood and trim back a little to produce fresh growth for flowers. Water it well throughout the year but particularly while forming buds in summer/ autumn and early spring. During winter or early spring cut previous year’s growth back to three buds in mature plants. Take out woody and twiggy stems.
